Under general direction, perform a wide variety of dimensional and functional inspection and test procedures on tools, dies, and fixtures, received material and parts, in-process components and final assemblies, to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Work from engineering documentation including drawings to determine the appropriate method and equipment necessary to perform inspection.
- Interpret customer and internal engineering drawings as well as other company specifications and quality requirements to determine if material, components, and product comply.
- Develop special precision inspection set-up operations that accurately and precisely verify requirements.
- Interpret ANSI 14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing requirements to determine measure and verify conformance.
- Work collaboratively with engineering personnel to develop techniques and procedures to accurately and precisely verify compliance for new components.
- Perform first piece and/or first article inspection for all levels of components/products in accordance with AS9102.
- Assist in the determination of root cause to support continuous improvement of our processes and product.
- Perform calibration of measuring devices and complicated precision gauges.
- Use a wide variety of test and inspection instruments/equipment including micrometers, indicators, pressure gauges, hand tools, optical comparators, vernier, and weights.
- Operate and understand the analysis of dimensional requirements utilizing a CMM.
