JOB SUMMARY:         

Under minimal supervision, provide mechanical engineering support for manufacturing departments in order to maintain required quality standards, control costs, and meet production schedules. Investigate and analyze assigned product and process non-conformances and apply sound engineering practices for resolution.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Trouble shoot and disposition product and process non-conformances through Material Review Board by working from company and customer drawings, specifications, engineering procedures, product routings, and/or process work instructions.
  2. Provide manufacturing area “hands-on” technical floor support to assigned multiple departments that may include but are not limited to Stamping, Forging, Chemical Processing, Welding, Heat Treating, Machining, Assembly, and Functional Testing.
  3. Participate with Purchasing personnel to disposition Supplier product non-conformances or information requests.
  4. Participate with Project Engineering and Quality Engineering as a team to review and approve new and revised recurring product releases to Manufacturing.
  5. Prepare and submit for approval Engineering Change Orders for both procedure and drawing changes related to product, tooling, and processes.
  6. Lead corrective action teams to resolve product and process non-conformances.
  7. Periodically review current products and evaluate processes. Determine changes to improve quality and productivity and implement after approval.
  8. Lead Business strategy deployment team and other business performance initiatives and practices.
  9. Lead process industry standard accreditation activities (that may include, but are not limited to, NADCAP, Environmental Health & Safety, and/or Quality).
  10. Prepare and submit for approval capital equipment procedures, including vendor research, interaction, technical compliance matrix down select, and equipment implementation support.
  11. Lead and train Manufacturing Engineering personnel (Manufacturing Engineering I and Manufacturing Engineering co-ops.

 

Secondary Elements:

  1. Perform other related duties as assigned or as required.
  2. Follow all prescribed Company environmental, health and safety procedures and policies.
  1. Work effectively with others and actively participate in continuous business improvement activities.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, BSME, 5-7 years experience
