Fabrication Planning

Position Summary:

Create manufacturing instructions and shop travelers compliant to quality processes and procedures while meeting all customer engineering and quality requirements.  The Planner will monitor the movement of material through the production cycle.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

Essential Duties in Order of Priority

1.        

Maintain a variety of schedules, records and reports pertaining to the tracking of materials through the production cycle and availability of production resources

 

2.        

Assists with the monitoring of inventory levels generating tracking reports and performing data entry as required.

 

3.        

Maintain tooling inventory lists, capacity lists and capabilities.

 

4.        

Evaluate sub-contractor capabilities.

 

5.        

Deciphering customer drawing and specifications while creating manufacturing work instructions (shop travelers) in order of customer demand.

 

6.        

Eliminate bottlenecks and provide work around options 

 

     
     
     
     

 

Qualifications: (minimum required to perform and be successful in this position)

  • Education:

High School diploma or equivalent. 

 

  • Experience:

Three years’ experience in the manufacturing industry

 

  • Experience/knowledge of equipment, machines, tools, etc:

General knowledge of Tube and Duct Manufacturing with the ability to understand and read blue prints as well as customer specifications.  Ability to learn and interpret a 3D modeling program.

 

  • Communication and language skills:

Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization, both verbally and written

 

  • Mathematical skills:

Basic arithmetic skills sufficient to perform basic calculations.  Some college level math skills for use in technical computations.

 

  • Computer Skills:

Requires intermediate PC skills with working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word. Any other specific software?

 

  • Reasoning ability:

Requires ability to access facts and develop conclusions

  • Other Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal skills in order to effectively interface with all internal and external contacts

Ability to work independently with limited supervision

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory authority over others

Interacts internally with co-workers, managers and senior managers on a daily basis, as well as all external interactions with external providers
