What Does the Job Involve?

Perform a variety of moderately complex tests on electronic components to determine functioning level and capacity. Maintain, repair and/or install electronic, electrical and mechanical components on CNC machines and other production equipment. Perform maintenance on assigned production machinery, including modifying, analyzing, diagnosing and resolving electronic, electrical, mechanical and operational problems.

What will my responsibilities include?

  • Maintain, repair, modify and/or install electronic, electrical and mechanical components on production equipment. Modify, build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electronic and electrical instruments of computer numerical control machines.
  • Diagnose causes of electronic, electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operations equipment. Repair and/or replace defective or faulty components or equipment parts and reassemble equipment. Perform routine preventative or corrective maintenance to ensure machines operate smoothly, using test equipment and following manuals, specifications or schematic diagrams.
  • Read manuals, blueprints, schematics, diagrams and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly and/or repair.
  • Record periodic electrical testing and recommend or initiate modification or replacement of equipment that fails to meet acceptable operating standards.
  • Review production schedule and performs necessary adjustments during a time that least impacts production.
  • Inspect, examine, operate and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Record maintenance and repair work performed. Analyse and record test results and prepare written testing documentation.
  • Demonstrate ability to appear for work on time, work overtime when necessary, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, work safely, comply with corporate policies, goals and objectives, accept constructive feedback, establish goals and objectives, and exhibit initiative and commitment.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

 What Key Skills and Experience Do I Need?

  • Mechanical aptitude required, knowledge of machines and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings or diagrams.
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Ladder logic and printed circuit boards (PCB).
  • Attention to detail, thorough and dependable with completing assigned tasks.

What Qualifications Should I Have?

  • 2-year Associate Degree or higher or equivalent education and experience.
  • 3 - 5 years of previous similar experience.
