JOB SUMMARY

The Product Line Manager is responsible for oversight of the Project Team.  This includes responsibility for the team's work output quality, schedule adherence and work delegation, employee mentoring, as well as development and execution of organizations' key Project Management / APQP Procedures. The Product Line Manager provide tactical, strategic, and functional leadership to all product line activities in Bartlett, IL, and Saltillo, Mexico locations.

KEY RESULTS AREAS

Business Development/Financial Oversight

  • Works closely with Business Development Managers on gaining new business
  • Manages the quotation process and CER cost model development
  • Determines pricing and cost targets ensuring project profitability
  • Forecasts future sales and determines new sales channels

Functional Excellence

  • Provide a layer of review to ensure all Project Management APQP tasks meet the highest level of excellence and meet the customer's expectations 
  • Work directly with customers as needed
  • Assist and supplement project work as needed
  • Support the product development group in their technology research and analysis

 Project Management

  • Use a disciplined approach to accomplishing tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Able to complete projects as assigned on-time and within budget
  • Adept and skilled in knowing all facets of the APQP process
  • Enforce and maintain databases and reporting structures for all project APQP files

Team Development

  • Provides training to project staff for all key APQP processes
  • Develop and maintain training matrix and monitor employee performance both on an individual and team levels
  • Coach engineers in strategy deployment, project management, and product launch activities

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering related field (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial) 
  • MBA is a plus
  • APQP or Project Management certification

 EXPERIENCE

  • 10 plus years’ experience in Sales Engineering, Engineering, or Business Development in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, medical, and/or metal fabrication preferred 
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing and Kanban concepts
  • Sales engineering experience highly preferred
  • ERP and MRP experience, Infor Syteline highly preferred
  • PMP and/or APQP Certification is a plus
