JOB SUMMARY
EGR Coolers Final Testers/Inspectors operate and tend to automated machinery manufacturing products for automotive industry. They inspect and check conformance of the product, and pack the parts in the appropriate containers. EGR Coolers Final Testers/Inspectors are responsible for ensuring safety, quality, efficiency of their work, and adhering to production standards in the areas of their competencies.
KEY RESULTS AREAS
Safety/5S/Housekeeping
- Follow all safety protocols, policies, and standards of work
- Keep work area in clean and orderly condition.
- Alert Supervision of any safety-related issues immediately
Quality & Machine Operation
- Operate automated machines. Load and unload product, monitor machine operation for jams or equipment malfunctions.
- Visually inspect completed units and check conformance according to training criteria.
- Use hand tools and/or sanders to remove weld spatter, scratches, rough edges, bead formation, weld penetration, cracks and dings.
- Record quality test data in log or computer as required.
- Use various measuring and inspection devices/equipment.
- Clean and maintain equipment in accordance with operator clean and check procedures.
- Notify setup operator and supervisor of material or equipment problems, worn out tooling, and error codes.
- Sustain time and production records.
- Perform minor adjustments to machinery or computer settings
- Complete cleaning and inspection of final product, checking weld joints, weld spatter, scratches and dings, prior to shipment.
- Pack parts in appropriate containers
- Complete all pertinent training requirements, including any certification or test criteria deemed necessary by Engineering, Quality, and/or Management relative to Standard Work.
- Use hand sanders, lift assists, computer programs, magnifiers and common hand tools
- Perform other related duties as assigned
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Basic English a must
- Basic math and reading skills
EXPERIENCE
- 3 years experience operating automatic machinery in a manufacturing setting preferred but WILL TRAIN CANDIDATES WITH NO MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE
- Basic use of hand tools and measuring/inspecting equipment
