Who is Senior Aerospace AMT/Damar?

We are a manufacturer of structural parts for the leading original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) in the large business and regional jet markets. Our experience and capabilities span multiple segments of an aircraft, including the engine pylon, struts, wing box, wings, wheel well, and the interior. Our success is based on utilizing proprietary manufacturing techniques to manufacture high quality complex parts through cost effective production.

What does the job involve?

The Manufacturing Engineer creates and documents efficient procedure. They design tooling, work stations and material handling system used to manufacture product to our customer requirements.

What will my responsibilities include?

  • Implement the Senior Operating System’s lean principals
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on quality issues
  • Design tooling that improves the quality and repeatability of our processes
  • Design workstations that allow TM to maintain ideal ergonomic postures
  • Design material handling system that safely transports material through the value stream
  • Provide assembly line or Machine Shop support for production issues
  • Manage 3-5 projects with limited guidance
  • Manage new program onload
  • Lead and Participate in Kaizen Events
  • Read and interpret engineering drawing and specs from our customer and develop processes that meet these requirements
  • Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures

What key skills and experience do I need?

  • Effectively communicates verbally and in writing
  • Gives priority to customer satisfaction and service needs. Provides information and results accurately, courteously, in a timely manner
  • Keeps working area neat and organized. Arrives on time to work. Works to meet deadlines efficiently and complete job assignments within allotted times
  • Collaborates and cooperates with Operations, EH&S and the Quality Department. Knows when to ask for information and assistance. Demonstrates a willing, positive, and proactive attitude. Follows verbal and written instructions; works independently with a minimum of supervision
  • Takes responsibility for own actions and results
  • Understands and complies with company policies and guidelines as described in the Employee Handbook, the Employee Safety Manual and the Quality Management System. Complies with rules and procedures of a drug-free workplace

What qualifications should I have?

  • 4-7+ years’ experience
  • Degree in Bachelors of Science, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
  • Strong background CAD software (Enovia, CATIA, AutoCad, Solidworks)
  • Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook
  • Strong background in machining techniques
  • Experience reading blueprints, geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) data
  • Experience in Syteline or equivalent ERP system
