Who is Senior Aerospace AMT/Damar?

We are a manufacturer of structural parts for the leading original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) in the large business and regional jet markets. What does the job involve?

The CMM Programmer creates offline CMM programs utilized for inspection and verification of features to customer engineering on CMM’s.

What will my responsibilities include?

  • Work independently to analyze drawings, sketches, and design data of part to determine which features to inspect, verify, and report.
  • Writes CMM program headers including setup instruction sheets.
  • Writes CMM program within the Metrologic Silma software.
  • Revises programs as required eliminating errors or omissions.
  • Perform CMM inspection on first runs, proving out program and setup instructions.
  • Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What key skills and experience do I need?

  • Collaborates with external and internal customers and suppliers, including Engineering, Manufacturing, CNC Programming and Quality (Inspectors and Engineers), to resolve issues and meet customer specifications. 
  • Works independently, follows instructions and is able to concentrate on workload for extended periods of time.
  • Tolerates multiple interruptions throughout the day and is able to multi-task.

What qualifications should I have?

  • Two years CMM machine inspection experience (recent).
  • Three years Quality Assurance experience (recent).
  • Must have excellent GD&T technical and working knowledge and exceptional inspection skills using CMM’s.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • “Team player” with abilities to work in cross-functional teams to trouble shoot and solve problems.
  • Able to provide technical assistance to manufacturing and inspection personnel as appropriate.
  • Strong working knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including, but not limited to, calipers, micrometers, height gages, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges and dial indicators etc.
  • Previous CAD, CATIA, UNIGRAPHICS software experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS applications.
