JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for performing various design-related activities to support product development within the applications team. 

KEY RESULTS AREAS

Functional Excellence

  • Develop and execute analysis activities related to Senior's products including generating DFMEA's
  • Use the APQP process to create a DVP&R and manage plan execution of the plan
  • Take product design ownership with an additional focus on product development 
  • Develop engineering procedures  

Business & Customer Support

  • Participate in APQP teams with direct involvement in the conceptual and prototype phases (Phase 1 & Phase 2)
  • Work closely with customer, sales, and business unit teams 

Documentation

  • Generate analysis reports for project teams
  • Write and maintain engineering specifications and work instructions
  • Process travelers, process flow, and QCP, and any other construction methods used during POC and prototype builds

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering related field (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial)
  • Knowledge of CAD Modeling
  • Welding Technology highly desireable  

 EXPERIENCE

  • 5 plus years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, medical, and/or metal fabrication preferred 
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts
  • Sales engineering or product development support experience highly preferred
  • Infor Syteline highly preferred
  • PMP and/or APQP Certification is a plus
