Senior Metal Bellows continues to refine and develop welded metal bellows technology and the integration of welded metal bellows into critical aerospace, semiconductor, medical, defense, and industrial applications. Our 115,000 square-foot manufacturing facility is conveniently located on Route 1 in Sharon, Massachusetts.

What is the Position?

Under minimal direction from the Engineering Design Lead, responsibilities include concept design and solid modeling of new product, creation of detail drawings of assembly, sub-assembly and components, design of jigs, fixtures and bellows related tooling; and processing of Engineering Change Orders and manufacturing drawings.

What are the key responsibilities?

  1. Prepare a wide variety of complex engineering drawings and designs in compliance with Company and ASME Y 14.5 standards using SolidWorks CAD software is strongly preferred (other CAD software experience considered)
  2. Design and analyze components in relevant markets including Aerospace, Oil and Gas, Medical, Semiconductor equipment
  3. Work from customer drawings, sketches, and written and verbal directions from supervisor and engineering personnel
  4. Suggest design and drafting concepts required for the preparation of proposal drawings
  5. Recommend appropriate materials, tolerances, GD&T, and finishes required to meet design intent
  6. Perform basic design engineering calculations with regard to strength of materials, pressures, and effective areas
  7. Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) utilizing SolidWorks Simulation Software
  8. Prepare assembly and detail drawings in conformance with layout and best practices for Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA)
  9. Support design iterations resulting from design review activities with the New Product Team members to approve and release drawings and other related engineering documentation.
  10. Revise models and drawings related to Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
  11. Provide Design support for activities related to issues that arise during production and development

What Education & Qualifications are needed for this postion?

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred along with a minimum of 5-7 year's related experience

Formal training in FEA, CFD, Thermal Analsis, and 3D Modeling; experience in Product Data Management (PDM), Model-Based Definition (MBD) DriveWorks, and Product Life Management (PLM)
