What does the job involve?

Responsible for the supervision of the plant services department to ensure the company’s buildings, assets and infrastructure are properly maintained to support the manufacturing operations and meet the requirements for compliance with local, state and federal regulations.  

What will my responsibilities include?

  • Coordinates work order assignments to meet the scheduled activities and unplanned service requests.
  • Plans best allocation and utilization of space and resources for current facilities and futureAdditions or remodels.
  • Able to read and follow standard building blueprints.
  • Builds proposals and estimates for projects, repairs, remodels and expansion.
  • Develops project action plans and coordinates activities.
  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of the plant services department and personnel.
  • Manage/Monitor project costs to meet project budgets.
  • Manages project activities to ensure on-schedule completion to Project Plans.
  • Interface with management as required developing department budgets and capitol expense plan.
  • Conducts department employee performance evaluations, develop employee growth paths, makes hiring decisions and contributes to termination decisions.
  • Manages and leads cross-functional process improvement teams.
  • Sources vendor service and performance activities and oversees bid and proposal contracts.
  • Develops and implements preventive maintenance plans for critical facility and operations equipment.
  • Develops, Leads and participates in continuous improvement activities Company wide.

What key skills and experience do I need?

  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, self-directed, and the ability to solve problems.
  • Able to provide a clear verbal and written communication to employees.
  • Experience of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction.
  • Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams.

What qualifications should I have?

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Engineering, Business Administration or Operations)
  • Forklift operator 40 Hazwoper certification required.

Experience:

  • 10 years’ experience of management in manufacturing or facilities environment.
  • Experience with materials planning systems (MRP/ERP)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
