Who is Senior Aerospace AMT/Damar?

We are a manufacturer of structural parts for the leading original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) in the large business and regional jet markets. Our experience and capabilities span multiple segments of an aircraft, including the engine pylon, struts, wing box, wings, wheel well, and the interior. Our success is based on utilizing proprietary manufacturing techniques to manufacture high quality complex parts through cost effective production.

What does the job involve?

The EHS Manager implements and maintains a comprehensive environmental, health and safety system.  The position achieves corporate goals for environmental, health, and safety performance and ensures compliance with EHS polices and applicable regulations through partnership with management.

What will my responsibilities include?

Regulatory Compliance

  • Works to ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations and permit requirements.
  • Lead emergency response activities following spills and releases
  • Maintain ISO 14001 Environmental compliance and air/water emission improvement programs and solid/hazardous waste programs.
  • Support and review emergency programs (facilitate drills).

EHS Management

  • Prioritize major hazards and risks, and ensure actions are taken to mitigate or eliminate risks.
  • Assist and /or lead incident investigations and participate in management review of all serious incidents.
  • Provide support and guidance to safety committee as a member.
  • Participate in annual budget development process.

Auditing & Management Systems

  • Lead internal audits and coordinate external EHS audits, close audit findings and implement audit recommendations.
  • Identify and track Safety and Enviro metrics, providing information to employees and management.

Training

  • Create computer-based trainings for the company.
  • Train as appropriate on requirements and procedures for EHS compliance.
  • Work with Human Resources to track and record all training for compliance.

What key skills and experience do I need?

  • Should possess strong, training, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Should have strong oral, written communication skills as well as computer skills.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, have an eye toward practical cost effective solutions.
  • Must be familiar with current safety and environmental regulations including air, wastewater, storm water, solid and hazardous waste.

What qualifications should I have?

  • BA in engineering, chemistry, environmental or occupational health sciences or equivalent experience.
  • At least 7 years experience in the environmental, health, & safety field.
