What does the job involve?

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing the Master Production Plan to satisfy customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory. Responsible for providing the manufacturing floor with a monthly production plan consistent with STEICO’s capacity and sales forecast with the lowest overall product cost following the company’s cost accounting guidelines. The Scheduler is responsible for determining the desired inventory levels including safety stock levels for finished goods down to the bulk batch size and packaging run size.

What will my responsibilities include?

Essential Duties

  • Develop valid, feasible production schedules for finished goods and STEICO level jobs.
  • Supply requirements for raw materials, purchased parts and supplies via MPS to Purchasing.
  • Interact frequently with business development and operations teams to balance supply and demand.
  • Present 24-month demand, production and inventory summaries for review at monthly Sales and Operations planning meetings.
  • Publish and perform root cause analyses on key metrics including On-time Delivery, Actual vs. Scheduled Productions and Master Schedule Stability.
  • Achieve target on time delivery of 98% and inventory turn levels based on forecast error and bias trends, manufacturing capacity and customer service and inventory turn goals.
  • Use Rough Cut Capacity Planning to determine if production will be constrained in future periods and identify potential corrective actions such as: working overtime, adding equipment, outsourcing or expediting. Level load schedules (12-month).
  • Issue monthly update of inventory investment and turn projections for finished and non-finished goods. Provide unit and dollar value figures along with analysis of significant changes.
  • Revises schedules when required due to changes, material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions. Creates and maintains tracking systems for new and past due programs/projects, communicates plans/needs to team members and assists in execution where needed.
  • Creates a master schedule and MFG plans/prepares operation schedules. Maintains current production status reports. Daily MFG Plan reviews with AE’s and reports on actions required to meet delivery expectations.
  • Develop requirements and standards to ensure site goals and performance metrics are attained through a cohesive standard of work.
  • Analyze inventory levels for purchased and manufactured goods. Monitors material inventories, tracks progress of production, and reviews factors which affect schedules.
  • Expedites materials both internally and externally by communicating with suppliers and employee contacts.
  • Other reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictate.

What key skills and experience do I need?

  • At least 5 years’ experience working as a master scheduler in a manufacturing environment, aerospace preferred
  • At least 5 years’ experience with Management resource Planning (MRP) and ERP systems.
  • Management experience a plus

What qualifications should I have?

Education:

Associate’s Degree in business administration, Supply Chain or related field preferred or equivalent experience
