Position Summary:
The mechanical clean position is responsible for manually polishing tube assemblies in preparation for Penetrant Inspection and Anodize using shop tools that meet the customer and STEICO drawings/specifications created within the documented manufacturing processes provided by STEICO.
Essential Duties in Order of Priority
Assess parts to be polished for imperfection
Polish parts using manual tools such as buffer and bench grinders
Aqueous clean parts after they have been polished
Measuring of wall thickness for compliance using calibrated tools
Communicate with lead any issues or delays
Follow company policies and procedures
Other reasonable duties as business and operation needs dictate
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience:
No experience necessary will train on the job
Experience/knowledge of equipment, machines, tools, etc:
No experience necessary. Working with Pneumatic and power tools is a plus.
Communication and Language skills:
Must be able communicate and interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
Requires English skills both verbally and written
Mathematical skills:
Basic math skills – add, subtract and knowledge of the decimal system
Computer Skills:
Basic knowledge of computers
Other Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Detail oriented
Capable of following instructions
Responsible and accountable
Capable of working in a team environment as well as independently at times
