Who is Senior Aerospace AMT/Damar?

We are a manufacturer of structural parts for the leading original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) in the large business and regional jet markets. Our experience and capabilities span multiple segments of an aircraft, including the engine pylon, struts, wing box, wings, wheel well, and the interior. What does the job involve?

The Manufacturing Planner creates and documents procedures used to manufacture parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies. Electronically maintains existing manufacturing processes in ERP/MRP system. Verifies and thoroughly review engineering documentation for manufacturing requirements and material/process specifications. Works with Engineering, Purchasing, Quality and Production on successful implementation of manufacturing routing plan.

What will my responsibilities include?

  • Generates work instructions from engineering drawings and specifications, creates manufacturing plan in ERP system consisting of materials, production processes, inspection requirements and outsourcing.
  • Analyzes customer orders to determine the best manufacturing processes to meet the requirements.
  • Creates and releases tooling orders.
  • Review and implement process improvement requests from internal departments and order changes from customers. 
  • Investigates and resolve technical problems relating to manufacturing of product and assembly operations.
  • Update and revise existing routing for the accuracy and standardization.
  • Participates in the implementation of Lean principles and technologies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What key skills and experience do I need?

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, specifications, procedures, standards, etc.
  • Experienced with CNC machining, precision manufacturing processes and assembly methods.
  • Understanding of aerospace documentation, aerospace materials and finish processes and tooling methods a big
  • Able to multi-task and work well without supervision, able to reorder priorities in accordance with changing work conditions, internal customer demands, management direction and workload.
  • Be proficient in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.
  • Possess a positive attitude,  motivated doer, anticipates internal and external customer needs, gives high priority to internal customer satisfaction. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, daily coordinates and collaborates with all other departments of the Company.

What qualifications should I have?

  • Degree in Bachelors of Science, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Strong background in machining techniques.
  • Reasonable experience working with ERP/MRP system, well-versed background in CAD software (for example: CATIA, Unigraphics), proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Access, PowerPoint.
  • Experience in reading blueprints and geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) data.
  • Working knowledge of Lean principles.
