What does the job involve?
The Bellows Mechanic is responsible for assembling and testing cryogenic valves used to launch satellites into Space. This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor for this area.
What will my responsibilities include?
- Under minimum supervision, assembles and tests cryogenic valves. Perform these tests using Helium and Liquid Nitrogen. Able to troubleshoot when a leak arises during the pre-test. Constructs complex part assemblies of 50+ subcomponents. Follow assembly work instructions (AIS) sequences.
- Performs calculations and operates a variety of equipment to produce parts to close tolerances.
- Checks own work for conformance to specifications. [5]
- Fits align, calibrates, and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements.
- Inspects own work to ensure compliance with B/P and specifications.
- Work from verbal orders, blueprints, sketches, handbooks, etc. to determine the dimensions, finishes, and clearances required.
- Maintains cleanliness of the work area and ensures proper handling of tools and equipment.

- Able to communicate potential problems to Lead / Supervisor
What qualifications should I have?
Education:
- High school diploma/GED preferred.
- Vocational in manufacturing assembly training is a plus.
Experience:
- 3 – 5 years experience as a Mechanical Assembler or Valves Technician.
