What does the job involve?

Oversees the Facility and Machine Maintenance Department in planning and organizing the repair and maintenance of the company’s buildings, facilities and grounds. Monitors the progress of contracted work including remodeling, new construction, painting, and janitorial services. Assures compliance with timelines, specifications, and budgets. Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment or systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.

What will my responsibilities include?

  • Initiates, implements, and manages the machine maintenance program, with an emphasis on planning / scheduling and preventative / predictive maintenance
  • Oversees machine maintenance staff, facilities maintenance staff, maintenance project manager, maintenance stockroom clerk and chips & coolant staff
  • Oversees Stock Maintenance Clerk and spare parts inventory management system
  • Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and maintenance-related problems
  • Supervises plant maintenance personnel. Conducts employee performance reviews based on job description to determine competency
  • Ensures maintenance technicians are adequately trained and equipped to ensure that maintenance can be performed in a safe, timely, and cost effective manner
  • Plans, organizes, schedules work activities and assigns personnel to projects on the facility buildings, equipment, or grounds of the company
  • Initiates, implements, and manages the buildings and grounds maintenance program, with an emphasis on planning / scheduling and preventative / predictive maintenance
  • Estimate costs and obtain price quotes for outside contracted work to be performed as needed and monitor work in progress
  • Oversees the repair and maintenance of heating and air conditioning equipment and related systems
  • Oversees a variety of plumbing work installing, repairing, and maintain fixtures, pumps and lines
  • Oversees electrical work for new installation and repair of circuits, main services, fixtures, and equipment
  • Oversees security and fire systems and is first response to alarms
  • Coordinates maintenance activities with Plant Operations Departments
  • Assists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions
  • Ensure complete compliance to QMS, EH&S, and Lean/5S processes
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What qualifications should I have?

  • 3-5 years experience as a Maintenance Manager position preferably in aerospace industry
  • Expert knowledge of CNC Mills, Lathes, and conventional machines systems
  • Expert knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, & electrical machine requirements
  • Good organizational skills, demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, and meet deadlines and stay within budget
  • Must be proficient with basic office computer software, e.g. word processing, email, and spreadsheets
  • Must have the ability to work effectively with a computerized maintenance management system and instruct others on its operation
  • Technical aspects of the building maintenance trades
