Who is Senior Aerospace AMT/Damar?

We are a manufacturer of structural parts for the leading original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) in the large business and regional jet markets. Our experience and capabilities span multiple segments of an aircraft, including the engine pylon, struts, wing box, wings, wheel well, and the interior. What does the job involve?

The primary function of this position is to maintain the computer network, the computers on the network and to provide support to end-users.

What will my responsibilities include?

  • Defend systems against unauthorized access, modification and/or destruction
  • Perform and document vulnerability and networking scanning assessments
  • Monitor network traffic for unusual activity
  • Configure and support security tools such as firewalls, anti-virus software, patch management systems, etc.
  • Implement network security policies, application security, access control and corporate data safeguards
  • Analyze and establish security and performance requirements for Ethernet and wireless networks
  • Train fellow employees in security awareness and procedures
  • Conduct security audits and make policy recommendations
  • Provide technical network and security advice
  • Install, configure, and maintain switches, routers, etc. to achieve maximum network reliability and performance
  • Work closely with department manager to determine network needs and plan for network changes
  • Document and maintain network maps, system configurations, and changes
  • The work of this position primarily involves office or other non-manual work that directly relates to the business management and general business operations
  • Server installation, maintenance, and support helping to assure maximum uptime and availability
  • Setup, install, and maintain desktops and laptops as needed
  • Install, upgrade and maintain software on desktops and laptops
  • Provide support for end users
  • Maintain telephone system, printers and any other LAN connected equipment
  • Perform and manage regular backups of all network data and configurations
  • Troubleshoot issues with hardware, software, printers, desktops, laptops, servers, and network connectivity

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and free from most immediate direction or supervision
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of independent judgement, discretion and authority as it relates to IT tasks
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain organization during the work day
  • Able to maintain focus despite numerous interruptions
  • Ability to communicate well -- to end-users as well as upper management
  • Ability to protect and keep information confidential

What qualifications should I have?

  • Good knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures involved with computers, networks, and network security
  • Good knowledge of the software required to maintain computers and networks
  • (a) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and two years managing computer networks (b) Associate’s degree in Computer Science and three years managing computer networks (c) Five years experience managing computer networks, Certifications will be taken into consideration
