Who is Senior Metal Bellows?

Senior Metal Bellows continues to refine and develop welded metal bellows technology and the integration of welded metal bellows into critical aerospace, semiconductor, medical, defense, and industrial applications. Our 115,000 square-foot manufacturing facility is conveniently located on Route 1 in Sharon, Massachusetts.

What is the Position?

Develop and manage long-term relationships with suppliers to positively impact on the organization’s financial performance and availability of MRO, Services and Capital Equipment. Solicit and evaluate proposals, negotiate contracts and evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality and delivery requirements.

What are the key responsibilities?

  1. Review and analyze purchase requisitions, investigate and develop sources of supplies, prepare RFQ specifications, issue RFQ requests and review quotations.
  2. Interpret purchasing procedures to departments and suppliers, as a specialist in assigned material categories, which require a degree of technical knowledge.
  3. Work with Project Engineers and others to identify requesting department’s needs to develop and refine specifications for materials, supplies or equipment.
  4. Identify and select suppliers to procure requisitioned commodities, meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality and delivery date and places orders.
  5. Review and analyze quotations and negotiate pricing as well as other terms and conditions within scope of authority and ensure compliance with requisition requirements.
  6. Inform requisition initiator of any problems and concerns regarding compliance with requirements. Suggest changes to resolve differences while maintaining integrity of requirements.
  7. Initiate purchase order and implement and control specified terms. When applicable, receive purchase order approval before processing.
  8. Form strategic alliances with key suppliers to better understand their supply chain qualifications.
  9. Manage day-to-day relationships with assigned suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of assign components.
  10. Maintain, monitor and enhance internal kanban systems to continuously meet production requirements.
  11. Conduct supplier evaluation and recommend approved suppliers. Initiate and participate in programs to develop additional small, minority, and disadvantaged sources of supply.
  12. Coordinate purchasing activities with requisitioning departments to maintain inventory at planned levels.
  13. Monitor the cost, schedule, and scope aspects of assigned contracts to ensure compliance with requirements.
  14. Work effectively to achieve established Department Cost Savings Goals and Objectives.

Qualifications Required

Associate’s Degree along with a minimum of 3 to 5 year’s related (procurement) experience for a manufacturing business.
