What does the job involve?

The primary responsibility of the Receiving Coordinator is the receipt inspection of all raw materials, and sub-assemblies verifying quantity, quality and conformance to the specifications ordered to meet the Production Departments needs.

What will my responsibilities include?

  1. Review material packing slips against purchase orders to verify that the materials received match that contained on the purchase order.
  2. Assign a Material Traceability Code Number to each item on the purchase order that is composed of a different mill heat or lot number.
  3. Physically inspect all materials verifying that the heat number on the material matches that indicated on the Material Test Report and that all material thickness dimensions/surface suitability for intended use.
  4. Verify Material Test Report physical and chemical property values against the requirements of the material specifications to those, which they were ordered.
  5. Contact the material supplier and SFP Purchasing Department to resolve any issues with the materials received that prevents their use by the SFP Production Department.
  6. Perform Positive Material Identification (PMI) on materials at receipt and when required during fabrication for customer requirements.
  7. As needed, perform cycle counts of inventory and yearly inventory counts to ensure accurate data in the ERP system.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

What key key skills and experience do I need?

  1. An Associates Degree in Science and 1 year experience with materials and their properties, or a High School diploma and 5 years of manufacturing facility experience and a background in the use of specifications and various dimensions instruments.
  2. Must have good math skills, be able to use a calculator and be able to read a tap measure.
  3. Prior experience driving a forklift a must.
  4. Self-motivated, task oriented, attention to detail.

  1. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment that requires the management of multiple tasks at one time.
  2. Excellent writing and communication skills.
  3. Excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to complete a task or project
  4. Excellent professional demeanor and ability to collaborate with other departments
