What does the job involve?

The primary responsibility of the Q.C. Inspector position is the inspection of products and processes in accordance with various codes, standards and specifications to assure compliance with quality requirements.

What will my responsibilities include?

• 1. Witness and interpret results of hydrostatic, pneumatic and functional tests on expansion joints and or dampers.
  2. Perform dimensional and workmanship inspections on receiving materials, in process parts and final inspection of industrial units.
  3. Review and approve material test reports.
  4. Assist with the positive material identification of materials.
  5. Visually inspect welds to customer standards, monitor welding operations and assure that welding procedure specifications are being followed.
  6. Attain NDE Level II status for the performance, examination and interpretation of welds in VT, MT & PT in accordance with written practice SQP-601 and SNT-TC-1A.
  7. Assist with the compilation of inspection and test records for documentation packages.
  8. Assist the Senior QC Inspector in the performance of his duties.
  9. Escort customer inspectors as they perform their inspections.

What key skills and experience do I need?

1. Ability to inspect dampers, expansion joints and other related products from start to finish with little supervision.
2. Ability to evaluate quality issues and determine solutions to assure on time shipments.
3. Communication with Production, Engineering, and Customer Service to inform of any issues that might affect shipment or schedule.

What qualifications should I have?

1. High school diploma or equivalent with emphasis in mathematics skills.
2. Good reasoning and communication skills.
3. Prior inspection or nondestructive examination experience in a related industry.
4. Successful qualification in accordance with Standard Quality Procedures SQP-601, SQP-602 or SQP-603.
