Who is Senior Aerospace AMT/Damar?
We are a manufacturer of structural parts for the leading original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) in the large business and regional jet markets. Our experience and capabilities span multiple segments of an aircraft, including the engine pylon, struts, wing box, wings, wheel well, and the interior. Our success is based on utilizing proprietary manufacturing techniques to manufacture high quality complex parts through cost effective production.

What does the job involve?
Manual machinist performs finishing operations on production parts such as boring, honing, and countersinking; also plans, lays-out and machines fixtures and gauges used in manufacturing.
What will my responsibilities include?
- Sets up and operates manual machine tools such as lathes, milling machine and grinders
- Occasional use of CNC equipment to machine parts and fixturing
- Manufacture tooling that meets engineering specifications
- Inspection of tooling and parts to validate dimensional conformance
- Reads, understands and interprets engineering drawings
- Conceive, develop and build tools, jigs, and gauges in support of and at the direction of Engineering and Manufacturing requirements
- Meets production standard times with minimal supervision
- Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures. Maintain safe and clean work area
- Performs other duties as assigned
What key skills and experience do I need?
- Disciplined work habits and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and reliable
- Properly uses measuring tools and set up tools such as edge finder, indicator, micrometers, etc.
- Follows instructions and demonstrates strong attention to detail
- Communicates well verbally and in writing
- Mechanically inclined, with good manual dexterity
What qualifications should I have?
- Possess attentiveness to detail, good hand eye coordination and mathematics skills
- Minimum 2 years experience working with manual machines
- Knowledge of conversational programming
- Able to handwrite CNC programs using G & M codes
- Designs tooling using sample parts or prints
- Good understanding of the manufacturing process
