Who is Senior Aerospace AMT/Damar?

We are a manufacturer of structural parts for the leading original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) in the large business and regional jet markets. Our experience and capabilities span multiple segments of an aircraft, including the engine pylon, struts, wing box, wings, wheel well, and the interior. What does the job involve?

Plan, initiate, and manage major new product introduction projects as assigned by manager. Serve as liaison between customers and internal personnel in all aspects of projects. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage. Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, on time delivery and cost adherence.

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for the planning, management, and control of production orders, on behalf of the Company. The Senior Program Manager implements the activities and techniques required to achieve the scheduled or projected Customer delivery dates. The Senior Program Manager maintains status (as provided by Production Control) on all production orders and provides that status to Customers, Suppliers (through Purchasing); and AMT resources. The Senior Program Manager is authorized to request the release of manufacturing orders/manufacturing order splits and to formally submit requisitions to Purchasing (through Master Scheduling) for the procurement of outside vendor manufacturing and outside processing.  All of the above are within approval guidelines established by the VP/GM.

What will my responsibilities include?

  • Develops the overall master schedule for the new products with close coordination with the customer.
  • Develops the work breakdown structure (WBS) for the master schedule and program.
  • Develops budgets for the program within the guidelines of the accepted proposal.
  • Manages the program spend to the budgets and makes course corrections as necessary.
  • Practices and directs cost reduction/containment for the benefit of the Company.
  • Performs Demand Management, including forecasting, Min/Max, etc.
  • In partnership with Master Scheduling, oversees and requests:
    • Manufacturing Order (MO) creation, release and issue
    • MO splits
    • Purchase order creation
    • MRP exception reports, including analysis and actions
  • Develops and compiles miscellaneous reports as directed by Management.
  • Coordinates manufacturing priorities with Master Scheduler, Operations Manager and Assembly Manager.
  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Getting Information - Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Making Decisions and Solving Problems - Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work - Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
  • Responsible for Change Management. Monitors internal configuration change process, prepares and communicates quote to customer for impacts to costs and inventory. Manages incorporation to completion and assertions to the customer.
  • Assist in reviewing customer contractual documentation and contributes to the process in analyzing and ensuring AMT is aware of and able to accept contractual terms and conditions.
  • Communicating with Persons Outside Organization - Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, and other external sources.
  • Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.
  • Other duties maybe required above and beyond standards to meet customers status.
  • Some overnight traveling within US and international.
  • Provide regular program presentation to customers and internal staff members.

What key skills and experience do I need?

  • Proven ability to coordinate and communicate clearly with others in an environment of fast-paced periods of intense deadlines and fluctuating workload.
  • Exhibits and demands high ethical standards in relations with personnel, suppliers and customers.
  • Successfully maintain 12 consecutive months of tier 1 project management position or under discretion by manager.

What qualifications should I have?

  • Three to five years’ experience in Production Control/Materials/Inventory
  • Management in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strive to achieve 100% on-time delivery to customer purchase orders
  • Collaborates and cooperates with other Departments within the Company to meet customer specifications and timelines
  • Able to create status information such as gantt charts, s-curves, stoplight charts and with the ability to work in MS Project and Excel
  • Work as a program manager with limited supervision
  • Program Management certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Operations Management
  • SyteLine or similar MRP system familiarity
  • Aerospace Manufacturing experience
