What does the job involve?

The plant HR Business Partner provides both tactical and strategic HR generalist leadership for the manufacturing non-union sites. In this role, the incumbent will utilize experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others all while affecting short-term and long-term business goals. This plant HR Business Partner is responsible for working closely with site managers and HR team in the administration and development of a variety of HR policies and procedures, including employee relations, talent management, compensation, and benefit plans, HRIS systems.

 What will my responsibilities include?

  • Strategy: evaluates business challenges while developing and recommending solutions.
  • Partnerships: builds and maintains positive working relationships with a proven track record of building collaborative partnerships as the basis for being able to influence direction and drive change.
  • Analytical skills: is able to translate business strategy into implications for workforce (hiring, shaping, employee relations, etc.
  • Strategic thinking: sees the big picture and connects the dots; also dives into the details as necessary.
  • Solution-oriented: balances qualitative and quantitative measures.
  • Driven: is able to drive HR initiatives (can start with a blank sheet, design a plan/program/process and execute on a timeline)
  • Employee Relations: manages employee relations by thoroughly investigating, resolving and communicating employee questions, issues, concerns,grievances, for the facility.
  • Process Management: owns and implements HR processes to include: document SOPs for HR operational activities (e.g. On/Off Boarding, HRIS maintenance, and LOAs)
  • Analytics: use data and analytics to inform key business and talent decisions.
  • Compliance: champions the application and interpretation of HR systems, policies, and programs ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws.
  • Credibility: Maintains credibility as a subject matter expert in HR policies and procedures.
  • Delivers exceptional internal and external customer service for the company.
  • Handles information confidentially while displaying excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creates and distributes internal and external communications.
  • Facilitates employee training and is involved in needs assessments.
  • Leads employee exit interviews and provides feedback to management.
  • HR Metrics: tracks turnover metrics/retention and provides recommendations for improvements.
  • Refines and streamlines HR processes to ensure accuracy and improvements.
  • Never satisfied with status quo; always pushing for improvements and change.

What key skills and experience do I need?

  • Able to quickly analyze data and generate countermeasures that meet organizational objectives.
  • Efficient in the use of PowerPoint presentation tools and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Strong detailed-oriented and organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance role as an employee advocate and business partner while maintaining neutrality and credibility with the organization.
  • Possess accurate and updated knowledge of Federal and State laws applicable to wages, hours, working conditions, safety, employee relations- etc. to ensure compliance with state/federal legal requirements.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Customer-focused maintains high energy and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to remain calm in the face of adversity.

What qualifications should I have?

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or the equivalent of experience and education.
  • HR Certification preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years HR Generalist experience including coaching/counseling, leave management, worker’s compensation, employee relations, investigations, etc.
  • Experience in aerospace or manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior management experience.
  • Experience with ADP Enterprise and Kronos, is a plus.
