We are currently seeking a Hand Finisher I for our 1st shift (6:30 am – 3:00 pm) at our El Cajon, location.

 What does the job involve?

Perform hand finish operations to machined surfaces, holes, tapers, and threads with close tolerance specifications.

 What will my responsibilities include?

  • Utilizes all types of abrasive wheels.
  • Identifies parts surfaces to be finished and method of operation to achieve finish specifications while holding tolerance limits.
  • Removes burrs and chamfers edges according to specifications.
  • Works to close tolerances.
  • Uses precision measuring instruments to check work.
  • Taps holes and chamfers hole edges.
  • Uses hand and powerlifting equipment to position parts for efficient movement and burr removal.
  • Reviews drawings, travelers, and parts to determine sequence of work and surfaces to be finished under the close scrutiny and control of more experienced burrer.
  • Inspects work to ensure completeness and compliance with specifications.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the work area and ensures proper handling of tools, and equipment.

  • Maintain logs.

What qualifications should I have?

Education: High school diploma/GED preferred or equivalent.

 Experience: 2 years of close tolerance hand deburring and surface preparation
