What does the job involve?

Set up and operate CNC Mill and mill Turn machine, including: vertical Mori Seiki DV5100, NLX 2500SY/700 Mill Turn, and other manual machine tools.

What will my responsibilities include?

  • Use ESprit to program computer numeric control (CNC) machining Mills and lathes.
  • Manually program CNC lathes using Fanuc control.
  • Set up and operate 3, 4 axis CNC milling centers.
  • Program and edit programs for CNC machining centers.
  • Manually input (MDI) machine operations.
  • Set up and operate multiple spindle CNC lathes.
  • Set hard jaws and cut soft jaws to hold outside and inside diameters.
  • Touch off tools using tool eye, and manual touch off using tool, wear, and work offsets.
  • Use turning tools, boring bars, insert drills, reamers, inside groovers, outside groovers, part off tools, and threading tools.
  • Know the difference between grades of inserts and radius of inserts.
  • Use tool offsets and work offsets on CNC Mills and CNC lathes.
  • Perform maintenance.

What key skills and experience do I need?

  • Experience determining speeds and feeds, coolants, and lubricants or abrasives to be used to cut, turn, drill, mill, bore, tap, thread, ream.
  • Experience using machine materials to include: stainless steel, copper; brass; aluminum, 4140, 4130, 6061-T6.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and work to the requirements of applicable drawings, blueprints, equipment technical manuals, and other applicable approved technical references. Use shop mathematics including trigonometry and geometry and hold tolerances to one thousandths (.001) of an inch.
  • Must be able to maintain dimensional accuracy by inspection of parts using various precision measuring instruments including: sine plates, comparators, micrometers, calipers, v-blocks, angle plates, indicators, dial height gauges, go/no-go gauges, thread gauges, surface gages and other measuring tools.

Education:

  • Must have a High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 6 years of related experience.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 50 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments,. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions. May require wearing a respirator.
