Who is Senior Aerospace AMT/Damar?

We are a manufacturer of structural parts for the leading original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) in the large business and regional jet markets. Our experience and capabilities span multiple segments of an aircraft, including the engine pylon, struts, wing box, wings, wheel well, and the interior. What does the job involve?

Machine Maintenance Technician 1 performs a variety of basic duties required to maintain CNC and manual manufacturing equipment (mills, lathes, presses, punches, etc.) and other plant equipment to expected level of performance and production readiness.

What will my responsibilities include?

  • Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks, including cleaning, filling of fluids, etc.
  • Monitor and maintain coolant concentration and pH levels
  • Report potential problems to leadership for evaluation & repair as needed.
  • Assist in developing maintenance procedures when documentation is not available
  • Improvise and document solutions to accomplish new maintenance tasks
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of maintenance work performed
  • Enforce equipment lockout procedures for all machines and equipment when repairs are being performed
  • Work in a team environment which includes assisting others in completion of tasks, giving and receiving feedback
  • Communicate with outside vendors for instruction, quotations, and purchasing
  • All other duties as assigned

What key skills and experience do I need?

  • Basic understanding of CNC controls such as FANUC, Siemens, Haas, Mazatrol, OSP
  • Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical systems
  • Able to understand and follow basic work instructions and safety documentation
  • Follows instructions and demonstrates strong attention to detail
  • Communicates well verbally and in writing
  • Possess good interpersonal, listening, and participation skills including ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Able to follow appropriate safety practices and techniques
  • Good manual dexterity and ability to use hand and power tools
  • Operate forklift, scissor lift or other support equipment as needed
  • Ability to perform basic functions with MS Windows-based computer operating systems, such as opening and closing files

What qualifications should I have?

Preferred:

  • Experience in a maintenance or machining field a plus
  • Experience with a variety of different machine manufactures a plus
  • Degree, diploma or certificate from an accredited vocational or technical institute, or technical military training. High school graduate or GED preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Regularly standing and walking throughout the workday
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, crawl and lie down, lift; carry various weights, push/pull, reach, sit, walk, stand, balance, climb stairs, ladders and lifts and mobile equipment. Work above (4) feet when required. Operate foot controls
  • Use of computer keyboard and mouse
