We are currently seeking a full-time CNC Machinist IV for the 2nd Shift Monday - Friday (3:00 pm-11:30 pm) at our El Cajon location.

What does the job involve?

Utilizes numerically controlled machine tools to produce parts in conformance with work standards for quality and quantity. Able to set up and operate 5-axis Mill/Turn machining centers.

 What will my responsibilities include?

  • Sets up and operates CNC Mill/Turn machines. Follows Mfg. planning to select proper tooling, inserts, and NC programs. Works on high-value superalloy products, primarily Titanium alloys.
  • Works from blueprints, travelers, and established methods and procedures.
  • Performs dimensional and visual in‑process inspections of items during manufacturing.
  • Monitors and checks own work to ensure it meets specifications.
  • Is familiar with the use and application of all types of precision inspection equipment.
  • Installs computer program tape specified on traveler and NC operating procedures identified therein.
  • Proofs new machine control programs.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the work area and ensures proper handling of tools and equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. May require training in hazardous material handling, dependent upon job assignment.

What key skills and experience do I need?

Machining high-value complex aerospace parts to close tolerances. Performing machine setups, including using overhead cranes to load fixtures/parts, indicating, setting work coordinates, laser tool setting, use of right-angle heads, and calculating and adjusting offsets for turning and milling tools.

What qualifications should I have?

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational/Specialized training.

Experience: 7-10 years machining, 2 years minimum on Mazak (or Similar) Mill/Turn machines. Experience with, or ability to quickly learn, Mazatrol (Mazak) machine control.
