Driver - What does the job involve?

The main purpose of the position is delivering & collecting a wide variety of products to suppliers and customers daily on multi drop rounds using company vehicles.

Hours of work: 39 hours per week, usually working, Monday to Thursday 4.00am to 12.45pm and Friday 4.00am to 10.00am with 30-minute break for lunch.

Driver - What will my responsibilities include?’

  • Load, Unload, Prepare, Inspect and operate delivery vehicle.
  • Plan your given jobs to the most efficient and cost-effective route.
  • Undertake regular maintenance checks on assigned company vehicle and informing management of any issues.
  • Complete daily drivers Log for delivery round.
  • Working to the Road Transport Regulations 2005
  • Using GPS navigation apps to deliver products to customers on time.
  • Driving in inclement weather such as snow.
  • Interacting with suppliers and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Unloading products at the destination and getting customers to sign the necessary paperwork.
  • Adhere to the company’s driving on company business policy and driving standards at all times.

Driver - What key skills and experience do I need?

  • Must have the right to live and work in the UK (Essential)
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Good communication skills, dealing with customers & suppliers.
  • Good driving record with no traffic violations
  • Working experience of a delivery driver (Desirable)
  • Ability to operate forklifts (Desirable)

Driver - What qualifications should I have?

  • Full clean driving licence to operate vehicles up to 3500kgs.
  • Good understanding of English written & spoken
  • Security Clearance (Desirable)
