We are currently seeking a full-time Quality Inspector for our 1st shift (Monday – Friday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm) at our San Diego, Kearney Mesa Location.

What Does the Job Involve?

Performs dimensional and visual inspection of parts, assemblies, and/or final products. Conducts final inspection of completed parts. Document and record inspection results using statistical measures. Perform root cause analysis and provide corrective procedure recommendations.

 What will my responsibilities include?

  •  Performs dimensional and visual inspection of parts, assemblies, and/or final products. Conducts final inspection of completed parts.
  • Ensure quality standards and specifications are met on in-process and finished products and subassemblies.
  • Inspect and tests parts, subassemblies and materials, products, and work in progress for conformance to quality standard specifications. Test and measure assemblies for accuracy and verify functional specifications.
  • Examine materials from suppliers prior to production.
  • Record results of inspections, compute defect percentage and other statistical measures and prepare inspection and test results. Recommend corrective procedures and repairs.
  • Inspect for defects and test specific components for hardness, dimensions, and tolerances, using blueprints and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Designate items for acceptance and/or rejection, record test results and inspection data, and compare findings with specifications to ensure conformance to standards. Submit rejected materials to re-work. Helps with recruitment activities by screening and interviewing applicants, and preparing new hire paperwork and benefits information.
  • Maintain quality improvement through analysis and correction of defect causes. Assist in determining defect causes. Observe, monitor, and/or calibrate measurement equipment.
  • Demonstrate ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand, and follow work rules and procedures, comply with corporate policies, goals, and objectives, accept constructive criticism, establish goals and objectives, and exhibit initiative and commitment.

What Key Skills and Experience Do I Need?

·         Ability to work independently.

·         Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.

·         Ability to act as a change agent and work in a team environment.

·         Must be detail oriented.

·         Ability to work with quality inspection tools, including faroarm, micrometer, and calipers.

·         Familiar with personal computers.

What Qualifications Should I Have?

Education: High school diploma/GED required or equivalent education and experience. ASQ certifications are a plus.

Experience: 2 - 4 years of experience in the quality and/or manufacturing industry. Experience with CMM preferred.
