Who is Senior Aerospace Spencer?

Senior Aerospace Spencer is an engineer-driven organization focused on high-pressure hydraulic fluid fittings for use in commercial and military aerospace applications. We specialize in source-controlled, standard, and proprietary fittings. Senior Aerospace Spencer also identifies solutions for fluid conveyance challenges related to fitting applications. Our engineering capabilities include conceptual design assistance, modeling, testing and qualification. Our senior engineering professionals are active members of the SAW G3 Fluid Fitting committee and are recognized industry-wide for their expertise.

Position Summary:

The Quality Engineer will monitor and improve the quality of our operational processes and outputs. The Quality Engineer’s responsibilities include interpreting quality standards, inspecting materials, processes, and products, assisting in development and maintenance of quality control systems, perform audits, monitor supplier performance, and participating in corrective actions. The Quality Engineer will also work closely with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures across the organization.



Essential Responsibilities:

  • Determine quality improvement by identifying methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Establish statistical confidence by reviewing process outputs and capabilities.
  • Develop experiments by applying full and fractional factorial techniques.
  • Maintain statistical process controls by applying zone charting, charts for distributions and individual-medial/range
  • Analyze data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; and making recommendations.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, participating in professional societies, and obtaining/maintaining ASQ-certified quality engineer qualification.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Ensure products and quality systems adhere to company and industry quality standards.
  • Brainstorm ideas to create solutions for identified problems.
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality standards
  • Develop and implements quality control systems
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance
  • Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met
  • Ensure that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations
  • Develop methods to analyze product quality
  • Improve product quality by making recommendations for change


QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • 2-5 years in manufacturing environment (work or school)
  • 2+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance or a similar role
  • Root cause analysis experience preferred
  • Experience using QA software tools and processes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Above average math skills
  • ASQ certification preferred
  • Experience inspecting machined components, calibration of measuring equipment, and gage R&R studies preferred
  • Improve product quality by making recommendations for change

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent discipline preferred or equivalent work experience
