What does the job involve?
The primary responsibility of the Receiving Material Handler position is the receipt inspection of all raw materials, regarding quality and conformance to the order and keeping the stock inventory organized and accurate.
What will my responsibilities include?
- Review material packing slips against purchase orders to verify that the materials received match that contained on the purchase order.
- Operate forklifts to unload trucks and move material throughout the yard.
- Keep the stock room organized and stocked.
- Verify Material Test Report physical and chemical property values against the requirements of the material specifications to those ordered.
- This job is 75% outside work so proper attire is a must
- As needed, cycle counts of inventory and yearly inventory counts are needed to ensure accurate data in the ERP system.
What key skills and experience do I need?
- Assure that materials are released for the Production Department’s use within 24 hours or less following receipt at SFP.
- Assure that materials received that do not comply with the Purchase Order requirements are resolved in the most expeditious manner possible for the Production Department’s and if unable to comply, returned to the vendor.
What qualifications should I have?
- Must have good math skills, must be able to use calculator for conversion and be able to read a tape measure
- Prior experience for driving a forklift is a must
- A minimum of a GED or high school diploma
- Self-motivated and task oriented
