 What does the job involve?

The Manufacturing Supervisor directs and coordinates all activities of production in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors and leads.

 What will my responsibilities include?

  • Serve as leader, mentor and facilitator for quality, safety and production
  • Maintain production priorities
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly safety and operator checks
  • Perform document reviews prior to commencing job/tasks
  • Inspect in-process parts for quality and conformance to specs
  • Prioritize sequence of parts/fabrication and schedule work hours accordingly
  • Coordinate with other departments and shifts
  • Reviews all production and operating reports, and resolves any/all operational and manufacturing issues to ensure minimum costs and to prevent operational delays.
  • Ensure all required paperwork is completed
  • Advocate safety, best practice, company policy and procedures
  • Identify hazards and implement corrective action, controls; Promote good housekeeping; Coordinate repairs with maintenance and all impacted departments
  • Ensure all safety equipment and task appropriate PPE used and maintained
  • Assign work to appropriate team members based on skill set and availability
  • Conduct training and provide technical guidance to include safety and job/task specific

  • Solicit, listen and act upon team member input and suggestions to promote continuous improvement
  • Promote team unity, spirit and positive attitude
  • Respect and keep all customers, internal and external, informed
  • Provide input for team members performance reviews
  • Other duties as assigned

 What qualifications should I have?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Manufacturing or related field preferred. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Direct experience in supervising personnel.
  • Must be able to interpret mechanical drawings and prints.
  • Excellent computer and math skills required and proficient with Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP platforms – M2M a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated team player with ability to work with others in a fast paced environment. Dependable, hard-working, self-starter with multi-tasking capabilities.
