Who is Senior Aerospace Bird Bellows?

Based in Congleton, Cheshire, Senior Aerospace Bird Bellows was established in 1975 as a family run operation serving the petro-chemical and gas industries. Since then, we have evolved to become one of the industry leaders in the design, development and manufacture of pressure duct systems, flexible joints and insulation for highly regulated industries. We have established customers in aerospace (both civil and military), as well as in the nuclear, oil and gas, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.

 

What does the job involve?

KEY ACCOUNTING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Credit control:
    1. Provide customers with regular statements.
    2. Communicate with customers to understand why invoices are delayed / disputed.
    3. Prompt customers for payment of overdue none disputed debt (call / email)
    4. Provide the commercial team with debtor reports and reasons why invoices are disputed.
    5. Maintain a record of communications for audit trail and insight to wider teams.
    6. Process credit notes when required and maintain credit note logs.
    7. Produce KPIs on the performance of the debtor book.
  2. Update changes to customer addresses, and payment terms on EFACS.
  1. Maintaining cashbook from bank statements
  2. Posting receipts onto EFACS
  3. Assigning unallocated sales ledger cash
  4. Monthly cash flow forecast
  5. Assisting in the completion of ONS data
  6. Raise ad hoc sales invoices when required
  7. Providing cover for the purchase ledger function.
  8. Supporting continuous improvement in processes to optimise efficiency and accuracy.
  9. Ad hoc Duties (as required)

 

 

ASSOCIATED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Demonstrate and emphasise to all personnel a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.  Maintain a high level of participation and enthusiasm for Lean Events and generally support the drive for the continual improvement of processes, products and people.
  2. Maintain a high standard of health and safety based upon safe working practices. 
  3. Ensure that all work activities and records comply with Company Policies, Procedures and Codes of Practice.

What key skills, experience and qualifications do I need?

Essential

Track record of accounts experience predominantly Sales Ledger based

Desirable

  • Experience within a  manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing ERP and financial software
  • AAT

  • Advanced Excel user
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint & Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Organisation and planning skills
  • Time management

  • Proficient in MS Query
