 Who is Senior Aerospace Bird Bellows?

Based in Congleton, Cheshire, Senior Aerospace Bird Bellows was established in 1975 as a family run operation serving the petro-chemical and gas industries. Since then, we have evolved to become one of the industry leaders in the design, development and manufacture of pressure duct systems, flexible joints and insulation for highly regulated industries. We have established customers in aerospace (both civil and military), as well as in the nuclear, oil and gas, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.

What does the job involve?

  • Represent the company in commercial contract and pricing negotiations with Customers and Suppliers.
  • Review and establish pricing structures and conduct marginal reviews.
  • Initiate reviews of customer non-disclosure agreements and coordinate approval processes.
  • Formalise strategy/risk analysis for all contracts.
  • Identify and address key contract considerations.
  • Build and maintain strong, professional, and mutually beneficial relationships with customers and work within the Senior Group review framework.
  • Monitor the delivery of business in accordance with contractual terms and lead Contract Baseline Reviews (CBR). Also, providing advice and guidance on product and service delivery per contractual terms.
  • Negotiate changes to contracts within delegated authority levels and ensure changes align with bid approval process terms.
  • Guide the business in understanding contractual commitments.
  • Lead discussions to resolve disputes and ensure compliance.
  • Assess overall risks associated with contracts and propose options to mitigate identified risks.
  • Translate negotiated terms to assess impact on P&L and delivery risks.
  • Conduct financial reviews at project completion with CFO and Business Development Team.
  • Review monthly price and cost schedules and capture and maintain change control records.
  • Participate in strategic forecasting and pricing for all customers.
  • Lead contract and price negotiations with Businesses.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Manager on supplier contracts and agreements.

 

Relationship Management

Liaise with internal/external stakeholders and support management decisions by providing appropriate cost information and data.

Provide cost estimates during change process and advise of cost impact of changes. Track and monitor activity.

Work with stakeholders to ensure estimates are accurate and to make appropriate adjustments and resolve issues.

What key skills, experience and qualifications do I need?

Experience and knowledge         

Essential

  • Strong account and stakeholder management experience within a manufacturing organisation.
  • Extensive experience in commercial contractual terms and conditions.
  • Experienced using financial instruments (LoC, Performance Guarantees).
  • Good legal awareness of contractual obligations.
  • Significant experience in a commercial role.

Desirable

  • Experience in negotiating and/or delivering Offset contracts is beneficial.
  • Knowledge and experience in commercial pricing and margin analysis.
  • Experience of manipulating and interrogating MRP systems.

Qualifications and training

Essential

  • Excellent numerical skills, proficiency in MS Office packages (excel/Powerpoint).

Desirable

  • Previous ACCM Accreditation beneficial

Job related skills and abilities

Essential

  • Familiarity with contract structures, terms, and schedules.
  • Understanding of pricing methodologies, including through life support models.
  • Excellent written communication skills.

Desirable

  • Experienced in manipulating and interrogating MRP systems.
  • Experience within negotiating and /or delivering Offset contracts is beneficial.
