Description

The Project Engineer will be a primary focus for design and development activities aimed at satisfying customer requirements for the design of low-pressure low-temperature air conditioning ducting and insulation panels for aircraft.


Core Objectives:

  • Capable of leading the engineering function in projects to ensure the successful completion and certification of all customer projects according to specified work requirements.
  • Adhere to company procedures and standards while conducting project design work.
  • Ensure the final product meets quality standards by conducting thorough design reviews that are approved by the organisation, customers, and relevant aviation authorities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers and the organisation, bridging the gap between project requirements and organisational capabilities

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Take responsibility for the technical aspects of projects to ensure they meet customer, organisational, and regulatory requirements, including providing on-site support during project design phases. This responsibility may entail extensive travel worldwide.
  • Compile and issue technical documentation such as estimates, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Design Reviews, Technical Proposals, and approve drawings and technical reports.

Experience and Training:

An aerospace background in systems (air conditioning) or similar suitable engineering training, along with design review and project management skills. Some knowledge of CATIA (surfaces and solids for piping) would be ideal, but training will be provided in this area.

Any Particular Aptitude/Skills Required:

  • Strong technical aptitude and effective communication skills to articulate design solutions to various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated self-confidence, passion, and commitment to motivate team members towards shared objectives and tangible outcomes.
  • Proficiency in essential IT tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. To support design activities use of CATIA will be necessary.
  • Ability to handle diverse tasks, including assessing customer needs and delivering presentations effectively.
