Who is Senior Aerospace Weston?

Senior Aerospace Weston, located in Lancashire, England, is a leading supplier of a wide range of complex precision machined components, and sub- assemblies for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs’) predominantly in the commercial aviation market sector. Our experience and core capabilities support multiple segments of an aircraft’s build, including the manufacture of engine compressor and fan components, engine pylon mounting brackets, pintles, wing ribs and associated aero-structure components. We aim to support our customers with a complete solution, including supply chain management and delivery of line-side kits where appropriate.

What does the job involve?

To inspect manufactured parts to meet customer requirements and standards

What will my responsibilities include?

  • First off and batch inspection of CNC milled prismatic components, CNC turned machined parts and fully assembled products to high aerospace quality standards.
  • Detecting errors on workshop documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Using CMM and various electronic and hand-held measuring instruments.
  • To ensure and support root cause corrective action is completed effectively and in a timely manner.

What key skills and experience do I need?

  • Good level of previous experience in Inspection or using inspection equipment
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • In-depth knowledge of products and inspection techniques
  • Flexibility of working in other inspection areas within the business
  • Ability to take part and contribute to problem solving quality issues
  • Ability to set robust manual 1st principal overchecks for manufacturing purposes
  • Strong knowledge of first principles measuring equipment.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings and CMM measurement results.
  • Understand customer requirements.
  • Work to internal inspection procedures.
  • High level of attention to detail.
