Supply Chain Expeditor - What does the job involve?
Key member of the Procurement team assisting Operations in the on-time provision of materials and components at a competitive price to the required customer specification.
Hours of work: 39 hours per week.
Dayshift - Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm and Friday 8.00am to 1.00pm with 30-minute unpaid break for lunch
Supply Chain Expeditor - What will my responsibilities include?’
- Maintaining and developing successful business relationships with suppliers.
- Key contact acting as the interface between LPE and its external supply chain.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance, progress chasing and providing status updates to end user teams.
- Process owner of all Procurement related operating procedures.
- Identifying and selecting suitable suppliers and sub-contractors. The development and maintenance of successful business relationships ensuring competitive prices without compromising quality.
- Contributes to the consolidation, reduction and rationalisation of the supplier base.
- Assists the Finance department in resolution of invoices queries.
- Cover the raising of purchase orders and other supply chain duties as required, during periods of unplanned absence and annual leave.
Supply Chain Expeditor - What key skills and experience do I need?
- Must have the right to live and work in the UK (Essential)
- Knowledge of Manufacturing & Production Environment, such as Oil & Gas / Automotive / Aerospace tier 1 Supply.
- Proven Working Knowledge of Import / Export Regulations and associated processes.
- Proven negotiation skills to achieve competitively priced supplier contracts and agreements.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proven knowledge of ERP business systems (specific knowledge of IFS would be advantageous).
- Detailed knowledge and experience in the principles of MRP, JIT, Kanban, and line-side vendor managed inventory.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and have the confidence and ability to present to groups from all disciplines and levels. (Desirable)
- The ability to take the initiative and where appropriate to work with the minimum of supervision. (Desirable).
Supply Chain Expeditor - What qualifications should I have?
- Basic O’ Level / GCSE Qualifications, technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ).
- Full UK Driving Licence
- A minimum of a CIPS diploma in Purchasing and Supply (Desirable)
- Proven leadership skills (Desirable)
- Security Clearance (Desirable)
