Who is Senior Metal Bellows?

Senior Metal Bellows continues to refine and develop welded metal bellows technology and the integration of welded metal bellows into critical aerospace, semiconductor, medical, defense, and industrial applications. Our 115,000 square-foot manufacturing facility is conveniently located on Route 1 in Sharon, Massachusetts.

What is the Position?

Set up and operate various CNC lathes, milling machines,  grinders,  and manual basic machine shop equipment to produce precision parts involving unusual set-ups with unusually close tolerances and critical interrelated dimensions.   

What are the key responsibilities?

  1. Program/edit programs, operate and set up fixture components for jobs that require CNC machining and manual machines
  2. Set machine origins in accordance with the set-up instructions
  3. Work to machine dimensions and maintain close tolerances and correlated dimensions with a high demand for squareness, concentricity, finish, and parallelism
  4. Set and load all tools in conjunction with set-up instructions to complete assigned jobs
  5. Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines, ensuring they operate smoothly and efficiently
  6. Measured and examined completed parts to verify conformance to specifications using precision tools like micrometers and calipers
  7. Work from basic blueprints, material requests, methods sheets, or other written work instructions.
  8. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments, inspect in-process or finished parts and feature characteristics as well as manufacturing methods to blueprint specifications.
  9. Collaborate with Engineering team members for custom jobs or to refine manufacturing processes
  10. Train other Machinists as needed on job related assignments.
  11. Basic computer knowledge to perform labor transactions, and other required functions.

What Education and Qualifications are needed for the job?

A minimum of 5 years related experience along with basic computer knowledge to perform labor transactions, and other required functions, HS Diploma or equivalent – accredited apprenticeship in recognized trade, equivalent to a 2 year technical college degree
