Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) is used for the operations being performed and ensure that PPE is appropriately stored or replaced as necessary.
  2. Use only the production machinery and tools that you have been trained and authorised to operate
  3. Ensure all materials and products are lifted and handled safely and in accordance with manual handling training provided.
  4. Ensure that the required standards of behaviour and discipline are adhered to.
  5. Ensure that all materials and work in progress are protected from deterioration and damage, using the correct storage boxes or stillage’s provided.  Ensure that positive identification and batch traceability are suitably maintained.
  6. Maintain production machinery and tooling in accordance with any required operator preventive maintenance instructions or schedules, recording as required the maintenance activities undertaken
  7. Utilise tools and machinery in safe manner and in accordance with all safety instructions and previous training provided.  Ensure that any required guarding is suitably in place and positioned.   Immediately suspend use of, and report, any defective or unsafe tools, machinery, guarding or stopping devices to the Team Leader and HSE Officer.
  8. Read, interpret and understand engineering drawings and associated shop packet paperwork (ie Job Card, Kitting Lists and Work Instructions) in order to determine how products are to be correctly manufactured.
  9. Select tools, check condition and set up in accordance with job card and/or work instructions, reporting any defective, broken or excessively worn tooling to the Team Leader.  Ensure that all tooling is correctly and safely stored and located after use.
  10. Accurately record the time expended on production work to the correct works order number on the EFACS recording system.   Record components lost to the correct scrap code on the EFACS recording system.
  11. Ensure that all production related work activities and records comply with relevant quality standards and NADCAP requirements. 
  12. Demonstrate a commitment to quality and continuous improvement. 
  13. Use production machinery and tooling to clean, de-burr, dry and store products as required.
  14. Visually check the part prior to starting work to ensure it meets the standards required.
  15. During each Job Card operation, check the quality of your work and confirm that it conforms to the requirements by recording & stamping the operation complete with any required measurements.  Verify that the product is free from foreign objects prior to passing to the next stage of processing.
  16. Attend training or participate in improvement events as required.  Support the Team Leader in the training of new or temporary personnel.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experienced in working within a production environment.

Desirable Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experienced in using production machinery.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Level 1 Maths & English

Essential job related skills:

  • Ability to inspect work to both company and customer standards
  • Ability to follow “job cards”
