Senior Aerospace Spencer is an engineer-driven organization focused on high-pressure hydraulic fluid fittings for use in commercial and military aerospace applications. We specialize in source-controlled, standard, and proprietary fittings. Senior Aerospace Spencer also identifies solutions for fluid conveyance challenges related to fitting applications. Our engineering capabilities include conceptual design assistance, modeling, testing and qualification. Our senior engineering professionals are active members of the SAE G3 Fluid Fitting committee and are recognized industry-wide for their expertise.
What does the job involve?
As a Production Planner with expertise in Master Scheduling, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing production schedules to meet customer demand while maximizing operational efficiency. This role involves developing detailed production plans based on demand forecasts, capacity analysis, and inventory levels. You will collaborate closely with sales, procurement, and operations teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.
What will my responsibilities include:
Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:
- Developing and maintaining detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity planning, and inventory levels.
- Coordinating with sales, operations, and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources to meet production targets.
- Utilizing the ERP/MRP systems to generate work orders, monitor production progress, and adjust schedules as necessary.
- Analyzing production data and performance metrics to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
- Collaborating with engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for production-related inquiries and provide regular updates to stakeholders on schedule adherence and production status.
- Managing change orders and production deviations while minimizing impact on delivery schedules.
- Implementing and maintaining best practices in master scheduling and production planning to optimize resource utilization and minimize costs.
- Preparing reports and presentations for management review regarding production performance, capacity utilization, and forecasting accuracy.
What skills and experience do I need?
- Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their application in production environments.

What qualifications should I have?
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in production planning and scheduling, preferably in aerospace.
- APICS Certification preferred.
- Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or similar credentials preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting and Computer Work: Comfortable with a significant amount of time working at a desk or computer terminal, performing tasks such as data entry, scheduling, and analysis.
- Communication: Effective communication is key in this role, which may involve speaking on the phone, participating in meetings, and collaborating with team members. Clear verbal communication skills are essential.
- Mobility: While much of the work is desk-based, production planners may need to move around the production floor or warehouse occasionally to observe operations, interact with production staff, or verify inventory levels. Some degree of mobility and the ability to navigate these environments is beneficial.
- Manual Dexterity: Basic manual dexterity is required for tasks such as typing, writing, and manipulating paperwork or documents related to production planning activities.
- Visual and Auditory Acuity: Good vision and hearing are important for reading documents, viewing computer screens, and communicating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: The role requires attention to detail to ensure accurate data entry, scheduling, and analysis of production plans.
