Who is Senior Aerospace Spencer?

Senior Aerospace Spencer is an engineer-driven organization focused on high-pressure hydraulic fluid fittings for use in commercial and military aerospace applications. We specialize in source-controlled, standard, and proprietary fittings. Senior Aerospace Spencer also identifies solutions for fluid conveyance challenges related to fitting applications. Our engineering capabilities include conceptual design assistance, modeling, testing and qualification. Our senior engineering professionals are active members of the SAE G3 Fluid Fitting committee and are recognized industry-wide for their expertise.

Position Summary:

The CNC Programmer is responsible for generating, modifying, and proving CNC programs for lathes and mill turn machining centers to guarantee safe, high quality and efficient manufacturing of couplings and dampers. The position also handles the specification, selection and testing of cutting tools and fixtures for the CNC machines. The CNC Programmer supports production in process improvements. The programmer is the owner and key user of the CAM system.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop CNC Programs.
  • Operate CNC machines to test and verify CNC programs and prove programs and processes.
  • Develop and implement process improvements.
  • Troubleshoot machining process and/or CNC programs.
  • Review product designs for manufacturability and completeness.
  • Assist in developing raw material specification for manufacturing.
  • Develop and update procedures and work instructions related to machining processes.
  • Document and standardize programming processes.
  • Assist in developing CNC operator training materials.
  • Generate and update drawings (equipment design and layout).
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Associates or Bachelors Preferred
  • Completed CAD/CAM class(es) and Machining Class(es)

Required Qualifications

  • 2-4 years’ prior experience.
  • Working knowledge of precision measuring tools.
  • Experience with metric blueprints.
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM & CNC Programming.
  • Proficient in G Codes.
  • Experience in drafting/CAD. 
  • CNC Machine operation turning and milling. 
  • Strong math skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Creative Thinking.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Self-Motivated.
  • Must work well under tight time constraints.
  • Critical attention to detail.
  • Strong follow-up and follow through.

Physical Demands

  • Required to perform physical tasks and move about the facility.
  • Must regularly push and pull production related equipment.
  • Lifting of items not to exceed 50 lbs.
  • Required to use proper PPE (safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, gloves, etc. based on task).
  • Combination of office and plant environment.
