Senior Aerospace Weston, located in Lancashire, England, is a leading supplier of a wide range of complex precision machined components, and sub- assemblies for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs’) predominantly in the commercial aviation market sector. Our experience and core capabilities support multiple segments of an aircraft’s build, including the manufacture of engine compressor and fan components, engine pylon mounting brackets, pintles, wing ribs and associated aero-structure components. We aim to support our customers with a complete solution, including supply chain management and delivery of line-side kits where appropriate.

MACHINE TOOL SERVICE ENGINEER

Reporting to the Services Manager and working alongside our current service department the Machine Tool Service Engineer function is to support the business with repairs, breakdowns and PPM of various machine tools and auxiliary machines.  

Responsibilities:

  • To support production with any breakdowns, repairs and/or PPM activities on Machine Tools, conventional machinery, assembly drills and any other site-based repairs.
  • Promote workspace organisation in accordance with Lean 5S principles and generally help to maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout the factory.
  • Maintain a high standard of health and safety based upon safe working practices.
  • Ensure that all work activities and records comply with Company Policies, Procedures, and Codes of Practice.

Requirements and Experience

 Ideally time served within a service department, with experience working on or with Machine Tools (CNC Milling & CNC turning).

  • Competent working with Various controls. g. FANUC, Heidenhain, Siemens & Mazatrol.
  • Mechanical Bias, but with a sound knowledge of electrical and/or PLC’s would be advantageous.
  • MEWP & FLT License is ideal but not essential.

 Engineering skills

  • Machine tool knowledge, simple programming, good knowledge of various CNC controls.
  • Interpretation of Engineering & electrical drawings, specifications and standards.

Personal Competencies

  • Be confident and competent.
  • Ability to work within a team or on own initiative, with willingness to take ownership of tasks and projects
  • Ability to liaise with internal production teams and management.
  • Ability to communicate with external companies, suppliers & OEM’s.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate and to achieve set goals.
