Senior Aerospace Spencer is an engineer-driven organization focused on high-pressure hydraulic fluid fittings for use in commercial and military aerospace applications. We specialize in source-controlled, standard, and proprietary fittings. Senior Aerospace Spencer also identifies solutions for fluid conveyance challenges related to fitting applications. Our engineering capabilities include conceptual design assistance, modeling, testing and qualification. Our senior engineering professionals are active members of the SAE G3 Fluid Fitting committee and are recognized industry-wide for their expertise.
What does the job involve?
Job Summary:
The General Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including general maintenance, cleaning, and assisting with routine operational duties. The role demands physical endurance, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions closely to ensure that the facility remains in excellent condition.
The ideal candidate is a reliable, responsible individual who can perform physically demanding tasks while adhering to safety standards, will have a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This role is critical to the smooth operation of the facility, ensuring that all areas are kept clean, safe, and well-maintained for both employees and visitors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:
- Perform general cleaning duties throughout the facility, including maintaining cleanliness in bathrooms, offices, and common areas.
- Assist with routine facility maintenance, such as painting, basic repairs, changing light bulbs, and ensuring equipment is in proper working condition.
- Assist in setting up or rearranging workspaces, furniture, and equipment as needed for various facility operations or events.
- Operate basic tools and equipment, such as power washers, vacuums, and other general maintenance tools.
- Ensure outdoor areas, including parking lots, sidewalks, and entrances, are clean and well-maintained by removing debris, snow, or any obstructions.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while working, ensuring personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn appropriately.
- Assist with inventory control by organizing and maintaining cleaning and maintenance supplies and reporting any shortages.
- Support other departments when needed with general labor tasks, such as moving materials, assisting with minor repairs, or helping with project setups.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Facility Supervisor to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Requirements/Skills:
- Previous experience in general labor, cleaning, or facility maintenance is a plus.
- Ability to operate basic maintenance tools and equipment.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and willingness to follow them at all times.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Good communication skills to report any issues or maintenance needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the facility for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and reaching to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Comfortable using ladders or other tools to access high or hard-to-reach areas.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions (indoors and outdoors).
- Dexterity to operate cleaning equipment, basic hand tools, and other machinery as needed.
- Visual and auditory ability to identify safety hazards and ensure quality work.
- Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions, including hot, cold, or wet environments, and perform tasks outdoors when necessary.
- Comfortable working on ladders or at heights to perform certain tasks as needed.
