Who is Senior Metal Bellows?

Senior Metal Bellows continues to refine and develop welded metal bellows technology and the integration of welded metal bellows into critical aerospace, semiconductor, medical, defense, and industrial applications. Our 115,000 square-foot manufacturing facility is conveniently located on Route 1 in Sharon, Massachusetts.

What is the Position?

Develop programs for computer-based numerically-controlled equipment to perform unique and innovative operations program.  Perform multiple complex set ups and operate a variety of CNC or hybrid machine shop equipment to extremely close tolerances and maintain critical finishes. 

What are the key responsibilities?

  1. Achieve and maintain appropriate Operator Authorization(s) as required.  
  2. Program/edit programs, operate and set up fixture components for jobs that require CNC machining and manual machines
  3. Set machine origins in accordance with the set-up instructions
  4. Work to machine dimensions and maintain close tolerances and correlated dimensions with a high demand for squareness, concentricity, finish, and parallelism
  5. Set and load all tools in conjunction with set-up instructions to complete assigned jobs
  6. Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines, ensuring they operate smoothly and efficiently
  7. Measured and examined completed parts to verify conformance to specifications using precision tools like micrometers and calipers
  8. Work from basic blueprints, material requests, methods sheets, or other written work instructions.
  9. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments, inspect in-process or finished parts and feature characteristics as well as manufacturing methods to blueprint specifications.
  10. Collaborate with Engineering team members for custom jobs or to refine manufacturing processes
  11. Train other Machinists as needed on job related assignments.
  12. Basic computer knowledge to perform labor transactions, and other required functions.

 

Secondary Elements:

  1. Perform other related duties as assigned or as required.
  2. Maintain necessary records. Detect and report operation of faulty equipment and unusual conditions to team leader.   Maintain work area and equipment in clean, safe and orderly working condition. Follow safety rules and regulations and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 
  3. Ability to operate various cranes, material handling equipment and various types of machining equipment etc.
  4. Work effectively with others and actively participate in continuous business improvement activities.
  5. Ensure compliance with all Quality and Health, Safety & Environmental procedures. Attend HSE training relative to functional duties.

 

 

 

What Education and Qualifications are needed for the job?

  • Associates degree or equivalent training and experience
  • Over 5 years experience
