Hot Form Operator - What does the job involve?
Operating hydraulic presses/furnaces at high temperatures, plasma cutting and using various air tools. Fork-lift training and overhead gantry crane training will also be provided.
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week.
Core shift - Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:15 and Friday 08:00 to 15:00 with 30-minute break for lunch
Hot Form Operator - What will my responsibilities include?’
- Accurate interpretation and completion of production route cards
- Use hot forming techniques to press components made of exotic metals
- Manufacture aerospace components using various manufacturing processes including hot draw forming and hot die quenching in accordance with customer specifications and Quality procedures
- Achieve company work & quality standards in addition to delivery targets
- Application of pre-treatment (spraying)
- Tooling upkeep and cleaning
- Pyrometry testing for which full training will be provide
- Plasma cutting
Hot Form Operator - What key skills and experience do I need?
• Must have the right to live and work in the UK is essential
• Hydraulic press experience would be an advantage
• Experience of working with exotic metals would be an advantage
• Experience of use of hand tools within a manufacturing environment would be advantage
• Able to read and interpret technical documentation, visual aids, and data sheets
• Previous experience as a Forklift Truck Driver (FLTD) would be an advantage
• Previous experience of operating overhead gantry cranes would be an advantage
• Ability to work under own initiative with limited supervision accurately and timely
• Good timekeeper
• Flexible (overtime when required)
• Health & Safety conscious
