Senior Aerospace Spencer is an engineer-driven organization focused on high-pressure hydraulic fluid fittings for use in commercial and military aerospace applications. We specialize in source-controlled, standard, and proprietary fittings. Senior Aerospace Spencer also identifies solutions for fluid conveyance challenges related to fitting applications. Our engineering capabilities include conceptual design assistance, modeling, testing and qualification. What does the job involve?

The CNC Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC machinery and equipment. This role ensures that all CNC machines operate efficiently, minimizing downtime and maintaining high-quality production standards. The technician will perform both preventative and corrective maintenance tasks and collaborate with production teams to ensure optimal machine performance.

What will my responsibilities include?

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on CNC machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues in CNC machines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and machine manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Calibrate CNC machines to ensure they operate within specified tolerances.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and downtime.
  • Collaborate with production staff to identify and resolve machine-related issues.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Order and maintain inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for CNC maintenance.
  • Assist in the installation and setup of new CNC machinery.
  • Provide training and guidance to operators on basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC maintenance or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in CNC machine maintenance and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems related to CNC machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and crouching to inspect and repair machinery.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50-75 pounds; occasionally lifting heavier items with assistance or using lifting equipment.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling tools and machine parts.
  • Excellent visual acuity, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
  • Ability to climb stairs or ladders to access certain parts of CNC machines or maintenance areas.
  • Frequent reaching and handling of materials, tools, and machine parts.
  • Good hearing ability to listen to instructions, machine noises, and safety signals.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform repetitive tasks and handle heavy tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work in varying conditions, such as heat, cold, and exposure to machine lubricants and coolants.
