Summary: The Vice President of Finance (VP Finance) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business. This role demands a strategic thinker with a strong technical background in finance, proven leadership skills, and deep expertise in the aerospace industry. The VP Finance will ensure the financial health of the organization, drive financial planning, and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the company.  Accountable for the development, implementation and maintenance of the necessary procedures and systems for the financial control of the Company and the safeguarding of assets, including automated systems. Directs the preparation and analysis of financial statements, and the development of management accounting and central systems.  Reports to management on operating performance.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:

  • Assure the accurate and consistent recording of all financial transactions, ensuring that financial and accounting data are reported in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Directs the development and assures the proper maintenance of control systems to safeguard corporate assets and to effectively monitor operations.
  • Directs the development and implementation of budgeting for both systems, both capital and operating.
  • Compares the financial performance of operations with operating plans and standards; reports and interprets the financial results from operations; reports significant trends and variations and contributes toward the formulation of future policies and strategies which will enhance overall Corporate profitability and operating efficiency.
  • Establishes and directs a supporting organization which can effectively perform all activities essential to the function.
  • Directs the definition and staffing of positions for which the VP, Finance has direct responsibility and approves either directly or through the delegation of authority candidate selections for function subordinate controller ship units.
  • Reviews and approves department budgets, financial statements, and short and long-range forecasts.
  • Assures proper corporate financial representation at meetings of professional organizations and at pertinent governmental hearings.
  • Follow all Senior policies and procedures.
  • Other duties with the work as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in finance, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in the aerospace industry is highly preferred. Experience with balance diversification in general, payroll and tax accounting, budgets, internal auditing, credits, and collections required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial management, including FP&A, accounting, treasury, and risk management. Proficiency in financial modeling, ERP systems, and financial software (e.g., Infor XA).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, drive change, and influence at all levels of the organization. Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills.

 

Required Skills:

  • Language: Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must have the ability to read, comprehend, present, and write correspondence, reports, presentations, technical journals and data, policies, procedures, etc.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, written and oral instructions.  Ability to solve problems involving many variables in various situations.
  • Mathematical Skills: Must have advanced knowledge of accounting and finance methodology.
  • Other Abilities: Must have the ability to plan, set up, and administer a wide variety of accounting operations, to analyze and compute essential data objectively, and to work under pressure with a high degree of accuracy. Well-organized personality. Must be able to establish cooperative relationships at all levels. Must be advanced in MS Excel and proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint.
