What does the job involve?
The primary responsibilities of this position are the immediate supervision and management of the Quality Control Inspectors/Testers and scheduling with the production department needs.
What does the job involve?
- Coordinate and schedule QC activities and personnel.
- Interface with Production Departments to determine and schedule the most efficient allocation of the QC Inspectors.
- Interface with the Authorized Inspector and customer inspection personnel.
- Coordinate all ASME Section VIII activities.
- Generate, develop or revise welding and heat treatment procedures.
- Respond to customer welding procedure review comments.
- Maintain welding personnel qualifications; qualify new welders and upgrade existing welder qualifications.
- Contracting with labs in the performance of metallurgical testing in accordance with material or customer specification requirements.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned
What will my responsibilities include?
- Assist the Director of QA in the performance of his duties and serve as the designee for the Director of QA in his absence.
- Maintenance of acceptable levels of quality as established by the Director of QA.
- Response to project welding procedure needs in a timely manner.

What key skills and experience do I need?
- Ability to inspect expansion joints and related products, with supervision.
- Ability to evaluate quality issues and determine solutions to assure on time shipments.
- Communication with Production, Engineering, and Customer Service to inform of any issues that might affect shipment or schedule.
What qualifications should I have?
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum five (5) years experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience in a related industry which held ASME nuclear and non-nuclear accreditations, ISO certifications, etc. a plus.
- Previous NDE experience and a familiarity with ASME Section IX welding preferred.
