Who is Senior Bird Bellows?
Based in Congleton, Cheshire, Senior Bird Bellows was established in 1975 as a family run operation serving the petro-chemical and gas industries. Since then, we have evolved to become one of the industry leaders in the design, development and manufacture of pressure duct systems, flexible joints and insulation for highly regulated industries. We have established customers in aerospace (both civil and military), as well as in the nuclear, oil and gas, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.
What does the job involve?
Maintenance and development of the Quality Management System to ensure continued and effective compliance to our Customer and Regulatory requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure a continued effective Quality Management System in compliance with applicable Customer, Regulatory, and Third Party requirements
- Develop and deliver a programme of Internal Audits to support compliance and improvement.
- Collation and analysis of Quality performance data to Support an effective Management Review Process and Leadership Team inputs
- Develop and implement APQP/PPAP processes, aligned to customer requirements and AIAG guidelines.
- Ensure effective continued supplier assurance activities that support our business needs (Approvals, NCR’s, Scorecards etc.)
- Co-ordination of External Audits
- Support the Product Value Stream Teams with the preparation of APQP Quality documentation including Industrial Process Flow Charts, Control Plans, Process FMEAs, Gage R&R/Capability Studies, Quality Plans and Dossiers, compilation of PPAP files.
- Support with The Head of Quality in progressing our 5 Year Plan Strategic Goals, delivered through annual Strategy Deployment Objectives
- Co-ordination and Compilation of First Article Inspection Reports
- Completion of Investigations and Improvement Projects identified as a result of internal non-conformities, or as a result of a Customer concern
- Ensure any actions allocated to you on Q-Pulse are completed in a satisfactory and timely manner.
What key skills, experience and key attributes are we looking for in this role?
Essential Experience :
5 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance role in a regulated environment.
Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Gage R&R and SPC
Writing of Company level Procedures and Working level Instructions
Desirable Experience:
Practical experience of APQP, PPAP, Gage R&R and capability studies
Knowledge of AS9100 Standard
Knowledge of Part 21 Subpart G
Essential Qualifications:
Recognised Qualification in Engineering and/or Quality Assurance
ISO9000/AS9100 Quality Systems
Desirable Qualifications:
Lead Auditor ISO9001/9100 Quality Systems
